Issmatu Barrie
Undergraduate Research Assistant

Issmatu Barrie is an undergraduate research assistant at GMAP. She is a senior Community Health major with a specialization in Special Populations. She has conducted research in the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Health (SOGI Health) Lab and on the Characterizing and Tracking College Health study. Issmatu is interested in research-based approaches in understanding and eliminating the underlying causes of health disparities such as poverty, affordability, accessibility, and medical mistrust, that contribute to health issues in marginalized communities.
