Talya Gordon
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Talya Gordon was an undergraduate research assistant with GMAP. She worked on Project Khanya in South Africa primarily but also assists with other local studies in Baltimore. Talya also worked in Dr. Kristen Hamilton’s lab which focuses on the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms underlying impulsivity. Talya’s passion for understanding how marginalized communities experience both physical and mental health has led her to become a crisis counselor, an alternative break leader, and an NIH summer intern for the Vaccine Research Center focusing on HIV vaccinations. Since Talya’s family comes from South Africa, she feels personally connected to GMAP’s mission and is excited to be part of this incredible team.
